Adjacent to the carpark in the grounds of Blacktown Uniting Church and Mullauna village, is our Community Garden. Establish in 2109, the garden is open to the community. A variety of vegetables, herbs and flowers are grown together and there is the opportunity to help tend the plants already growing and create your own space. Our vision is that people from the community will join together sharing in this activity and grow not only plants, but also friendships.

Communal gardening times operate on Wednesday and Saturday mornings between 9 – 10.30 am. Come and have a look, meet the team, all are welcome.

Mission Conference

Out of the Box

This 3-Day conference offered by Uniting Mission and Education (UME) at the Centre for Ministry in North Paramatta from July 23-25 is about exploring what it means to be a missional Church in an ever changing world. This is a fantastic weekend for anyone who wants to explore what it means to engage their wider community in Mission.

There will be three talks from world-renowned speakers of the field, and a number of workshops that will inform and instruct on a variety of issues around Mission in our world.

Attendees will have an opportunity to sharpen their understanding of what it means to engage in mission in discussions on how to tackle the challenges that face us today.

The BUC Discipling Committee is inviting interested people including Grantham Heights UC to attend at least on Saturday July 24. It is a wonderful opportunity as we look to the future. Please let us know if you are interested.

Caring for the Community

We are here to serve our community by partnering other community organisations caring for those families who are struggling and those individuals who are homeless in our city.

We do this by supporting “One Meal Makes a Difference” on Saturday nights in Alpha Park. For this we have been preparing breakfast packs which are given out with each meal. We also collect non-perishable foods and toiletries for the Blacktown Community Hub located in the Vinnies Store at 23 David Lane, Blacktown.

If you are experiencing a difficult time you can ring our Office and we will be glad to offer what help we can.
